From Abby Hanley, Centre Manager: Upton & Malvern Vale Community Centre
14th December 2016
I am pleased to announce we have now purchased a Defibrillator for the Hill Centre.
We started fundraising in the Summer and raised over £400 at our very well attended quiz.
Usually the unit and cabinets can cost over £1000.00. However we managed to be alerted to a part funded special offer through Four Acre Trust- organised through Hereford & Worcester First Responders Charity. Which meant with the funding we had enough to purchase the goods.
The new defibrillator will be in place in second week of January.
I will be organising some training with the local Community first responders for advice on the new unit.
Please could indicate whether or not you would be interested in taking up this offer- it will just be a show on interest at this stage to see if we have enough people to run the training.
I would personally like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated to the cause and helped in anyway. A even bigger thank you to the Malvern wells badminton group, especially Mary and Geoff who delivered the quiz on the event.
Based on the success of the Quiz it would be good to do some more events to raise funds- if anyone has any suggestions on charities, perhaps local ones, please let me know.
